During Ramadhan Month and ahead of Idul Fitri, Indonesia’s Food and Drug Agency or BPOM, reminds public on illegal food products as the agency had confiscated at least 170,000 products from 796 distribution facilities.
Indonesia is currently preparing for Drugs and Food Monitoring bill which expected to be finalized in 2019.
BPOM destroyed at least 962 items or (446,452 pieces) of illegal drugs and food confiscated in Surabaya, this mid December. The confiscated items were worth more than Rp10.7 billion (US$739,771).
